Launch Lorain: A plan for the future of Lorain Avenue in Ohio City
The Launch Lorain full report was released today by Ohio City Incorporated after a weeklong planning charrette in November that examined the future of Lorain Avenue in Ohio City.
The Launch Lorain Charrette was made possible with the generous support of Neighborhood Progress Inc., Councilmen Matt Zone and Joe Cimperman, and the support of all Ohio City stakeholders. The charrette was led by the Kent State Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC).
The Lorain Avenue plan with launch the momentum of the Ohio City Market District west on to Lorain Avenue though projects such as revitalizing storefronts, activating public green space, engaging businesses and long standing institutions like Saint Ignatius High School.
The Report
Ideas from the charrette have been collected into the four categories of Public Infrastructure; Real Estate Development; Green Space Connections; and Wayfinding and Identity. The full report created by CUDC can be found here.
