Baseball

Near West Recreation offers four coed leagues for their baseball program and a 12u and 15u softball division: Tee-Ball (ages 4-6), Coach-Pitch Baseball (ages 7-9), Minor League Baseball (ages 10-12), and Major League Baseball (13-15) and 12u Fastpitch Softball (10-12) and 14u Fastpitch Softball (13-15).

Dates: The baseball and softball season runs from mid May through late July/early August. 

When: Tee-ball, coach pitch and minor league teams practice one weekday evening per week between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Games are scheduled for Saturdays between 9:00 am and 2:00pm.  15u Major league baseball and softball practice weeknights and play weeknights.  Games start at 6:30 pm. 

Locations: All practices and games will be located on Near West side fields. Fields include: Lincoln Park, Fairview Park, Herman Park, Roberto Clemente Fields and Michael Zone Recreation Fields.  Major league and softball games will take place on west side fields that include Mohican, Memorial Park, WC Reed, Halloran, Harmody and Thursh. 

Cost: $35 per child for Tee-Ball and Coach-Pitch.  $50 per child for softball, 12u minor and 15u major league division kids.  Need-based financial assistance is available.
